Hello everybody, my name is Pete Hurrikane and I am the site administrator. I have been playing golf for over 40 years and for the last 17 years I have been coaching the game. I am registered as a level 4 teaching professional with the WGTF of GB&I and have worked at two private clubs in Central Europe for the last 15 years. As an amateur I was a good county player and played to scratch, these days I would say I am still around handicap -2 but don't practice and play as much as I would like. I have started this site as a meeting place for any of the 60ish million golfers worldwide, and their golf widow/ers, if they would like to take part. There are some other golf forums on the internet but most of them are either strictly theme based with an administrator pushing his particular niche like 'Stack and Tilt' or forums that restrict and edit content that is contrary to their beliefs. Although I will definitely try to curb rudeness, bad language, off topic advertising and posts that I consider to be irrelevant, I intend to throw the site over to all members and guests to discuss golf related topics until their hearts are content. I have also left the reply function open to guests as I have found that most forums have a ratio of three guests to every member online at any time of the day. I hope you enjoy your stay here and that this will become one of the biggest or at least better meeting places for golfers on the net. With golfing regards, Pete

Hello Everyone!
Name is Jackass, looking to really devote a lot of time to my game this year after not being able to play much the last 2 years due to work & related travelling. I've been playing golf since I could barely walk and look forward to trying to get as close to scratch as possible this summer now that I've freed up some time.
Should be fun to discuss golf with everyone on this forum. Can't wait for the weather to clear up around here so I can get to the range and get this 2012 season under way.

Hi everyone, I just joined the site yesterday and I'm very glad to find a place to share golf --- past, present, and future, on here with you all.
I have been involved in golf since my childhood, I love the game of golf and all the wonderful things it's brought me. It kept me close to my brother when I was growing up and during the four years I worked with him on weekends caddying for local golfers. I didn't play then, but later did start playing once he suggested "it was time".
I'm presently working to restore my game to seventies level golf and though I'm quite a bit older now (in my late fifties and a baby boomer lol) I feel it's still achievable. Within me I have the will and inspiration that my dad bestowed on me and with good health, hard work and discipline I know I'll be rewarded.
I played a lot in the Washington DC area, SE Texas, and now I live in eastern Iowa and found there's quite a large following of the sport here too. (Believe it or not!)
Areas I'll be exploring here are game improvements, equipment, and how to compete.
Take good care everyone!
SB
